Names of Full Lunar Phase

Wolf Moon

The very first full moon of the year is known as wolf moon that appears in January. The name suggests howling of the moon during night time in the winter season in a certain region of the States.

Next comes the snow moon that suggests heavy snowfall occurring in February. This full moon happens in the peak of the winter season.

The full moon of the March month is known as worm moon. The winter begins to recede and very soon the spring equinox will happen.
